Alarm Club.

In 1852 Boston switched on the world's first municipal electric fire alarm telegraph — red iron boxes wired to a central office, two decades before the telephone. Over a thousand still stand. The city's own map of them is wrong: boxes removed but never deleted, numbers that no longer match the street. Alarm Club's goal is to fix that.

These faces document a handful of those boxes as they actually are — photographed, numbered, editioned. Every front was shot on a single afternoon, walking Downtown Crossing to the Old State House, up to Beacon Hill, and out to Back Bay — 27 May 2026.

This small run was never sold. It was hand-sent to local figures, organizations, and businesses whose work connects to Alarm Club's mission.
